I live for the applause, a self portrait photography performance.
All that glitters is not gold, beyond the illusion of perfection, the conventional pursuit of approval and the often-pointless quest for financial success as an artist. The paradox of performing for an audience solely for the sake of recognition. The absurdity of conforming to expectations for the sole purpose of pleasing others. The artificiality that can be inherent in compromising one's artistic vision for the pursuit of popularity.
I live for the applause.
Question the motivations behind your creative pursuits and consider the authenticity of your artistic endeavours. Are you happy with what you are doing or are you just putting up a performance? Are you being a clown?
